Have you ever heard the saying "Small Town Charm"?
Well, if it was ever meant for a place, Georgetown, Texas, fits the saying perfectly! This delightful town is perfect for a family outing, date night, girls' day, or even a solo adventure. We spent a fun-filled four hours exploring downtown Georgetown, but honestly, we recommend at least a full day—if not a whole weekend—to soak in everything this town has to offer.
Pan Tostado Cafe
A visit to Georgetown isn’t complete without stopping at Pan Tostado Cafe, a Mexican brunch spot that welcomes you with stunning decor and a cozy atmosphere. We ordered the chilaquiles, a delicious plate of fried corn chips topped with salsa, cheese, eggs, and beans. We opted for scrambled eggs instead of the usual fried ones, and they were absolutely tasty!
Choosing a latte was a challenge—every specialty drink sounded amazing! We finally settled on the Horchata and Dulce de Leche Ice Lattes, and let’s just say neither of us was willing to share! They were that good.
Attached to the cafe is Decor With Amor, a charming shop filled with beautiful home goods. Whether you’re looking for decor, brunch with friends, or a peaceful spot to work, Pan Tostado is a must-visit!
Lamppost Coffee
A great coffee stop whether you're starting your day, taking a break, or winding down, Lamppost Coffee has five locations in the Austin area, but we visited the downtown Georgetown spot. We tried the Tiramisu Latte—a seasonal delight available only through March—and it tasted like cake in a cup!
The shop has plenty of seating, including an outdoor area, making it an ideal place to relax, catch up with friends, or get some work done. Plus, they provide games to keep little ones entertained!
Scoops
Stepping into Scoops felt like walking into a nostalgic 90s memory, filled with vintage charm. This shop is part toy store, part bookshop, and part old-fashioned ice cream parlor—a true childhood dream. The diverse book selection for kids was fantastic, and we loved seeing a full display of the classic Llama Llama Red Pajama.
The ice cream selection? Unreal with around 46 unique Old-Fashioned Ice Cream flavors priced at just 90 cents per ounce—talk about a NOSTALGIA! Each creamy scoop transported us back to the simple joys of childhood. If you love vintage vibes and sweet treats, you will love Scoops. (Hope that this place is able to stay in downtown Georgetown!)
The Baked Bear
Tucked away on a side street, The Baked Bear is a dessert haven you do not want to miss. I would like to admit that it is part of a chain and not a local bakery or dessert shop. As soon as you walk in, the scent of freshly baked cookies and brownies fills the air. Though we were tempted by everything, we opted for an ice cream sandwich—a warm, gooey brownie on one side, a soft cookie on the other, and a scoop of ice cream in between.
And let’s talk about their brownies—honestly, some of the best we’ve ever had! If you have a sweet tooth, this place is a must-visit.
Red Bird Mercantile
This locally woman-owned boutique is a fashion lover’s paradise. We spent a good hour admiring their stylish clothing and accessories before finally making a purchase (or a few!). The boutique’s owner has a great eye for fashion, and the warm, welcoming staff made shopping here even more enjoyable.
Blushing Belle Boutique
If you love chic Western fashion, this is your spot! The moment we walked in, the display of cowboy hats caught our eye—it’s a must-stop for Instagram-worthy photos.
The highlight? The Hat Bar, where you can customize and brand your own cowboy hat—perfect for wearing to the rodeo, vineyards, or a night out. This boutique also offers trendy clothing for both men and women, making it a great shopping destination.
Lark & Owl Booksellers
Book lovers! Lark & Owl Booksellers is a bookshop like no other, celebrating diversity, inclusivity, and community. From hard-to-find titles to unique event offerings, this bookstore is a must.
Inclusive Selection – Books from various authors on diverse topics.
Thoughtful Amenities – The restrooms are stocked with essentials for women and babies/toddlers, and there's a donation box to help keep these stocked.
On-Site Bistro – Offering over 30 baked goods and desserts, plus an amazing selection of teas, lattes, lemonades, and more. We tried the Earl Grey Cookie, and it was unbelievably good!
Community Events – Book signings, multiple book clubs (including mystery, sci-fi, horror, and romance), and gatherings to bring book lovers together.
Kids' Play Area – A dedicated children’s section with books, games, and chalkboards, perfect for little readers.
Why You Should Visit Georgetown, Texas
We only spent four hours in downtown Georgetown, and it simply wasn’t enough! With its amazing local businesses, welcoming community, and charming small-town feel, this town deserves at least a 48-hour visit.
